Installing House Shutters: Save By Doing It Yourself – PART 2
28 April 2009
Installing House Shutters: Inside mount installationWith an inside mount installation, the shutter is mounted directly to the inside of the window casing on the window jamb. This is ordinarily a better manner of installation and is much preferred in the industry as it is neater and needs no framing strips. Begin by checking to see that the window jamb is in good shape. Then, you need to attach the shutter hardware with screws. To do this, drill a hole in the jamb at certain points so that the shutter can be mounted into the window jamb. The jamb should be solid so that the shutter will be secure. When you have screwed on the hardware, you should check to ensure that the shutters align properly with the window.
