Maine Maritime Museum

The seafarers that once sailed the high seas in tall ships fascinate people of all ages. They traded goods and braved all the dangers that the unpredictable sea could throw at them. It is no wonder then that one of the most popular attractions around the city of Bath, Maine is the Maine Maritime Museum.The museum displays the rich maritime history of the people of Maine, from lobster fishermen to traders and sailors and shipbuilders of all varieties. It is located on twenty-five acres and encompasses the seafront, as well as galleries, exhibits, and some hands on activities. Visitors can tour a real Victorian ear house as well as a shipyard that contains five original buildings from the 1800s. You can even learn how the ships of the day were built.The town of Bath offers as much opportunity for fun as does the museum.
