Come to the Millyard Museum that has artifacts from 11,000 years ago that show how the people of the area survived. See how the influence of the cotton mills changed a community to become one of the most well known areas for milling.Visit the display of the Lincoln memorabilia from his visit to the community. You will be able to see a Lincoln-Hamlin campaign flag; mirror that reflected Lincoln’s face in the casket on the Pullman railroad car that brought his remains to Springfield, Illinois; and a studio photograph of Lincoln that he gave to Manchester manufacturer Abraham Olzendam. The museum is at 200 Bedroed Street in Manchester and open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10 – 4.
