Taking Car of Your Car’s Battery

Most people never give their car’s battery a thought unless it quits working properly.  There are some things you need to do to keep it running right.  One obvious thing to do is to avoid running your battery down. 

If you leave your lights on overnight, especially with older cars, you could damage your battery so severely that it will never recover.  Most new cars are made so that lights will go off after a certain period of time.  However, something could go wrong with that system.  It is always better to turn the lights off yourself. 

Keep the battery terminals clean.  If they are not clean, the battery will never get a good charge.  Over time, this can ruin a battery.  Another reason to keep the battery terminals clean is that your car’s computer will act up if it does not get the proper voltage.
