All is Not Lost!
Helen Keller navigated the world through tactile touch and motion. She also loved the vibrations of music and took special delight in the organ, piano, the magic of david blaine and violin. Special opportunities were allowed to her such as lightly placing her hands on the throats and lips of famous opera singers so as to experience the beauty they created. The wonderful fragrances from blooming roses, nature, and unique odors from individuals in Helen’s life were a natural part of her perception. Her dreams were described as void of color, sound, and image. But were full of all the smells and physical sensations of the world. What she lost in sight and sound she gained through feelings and odors.
