What is a violin

14 August 2009

Violins are string instruments played by sliding a bow over a set of strings. They are made up of an hourglass-shaped top and a long neck, with four strings stretched vertically along the center. Traditionally, the top of a violin is made of spruce, the neck made of maple, and the strings are made of nylon or metal wire. The bow is usually wood with horsehairs strung over it. Violins are sometimes called fiddles, although this refers to violins specifically used in folk music. Violins are the smallest member of the string family, and can also reach the highest notes. Their strings are tuned in perfect fifths, an interval equivalent to seven keys on a piano keyboard. They can be played sitting or standing up, usually held with the bottom resting between the shoulder and the chin. A curved chinrest is often provided for this purpose. Violin sizes are indicated in fractions starting from 1/16, usually a children’s model, up to 4/4, the largest size used by adults.

Finding a great photographer for Boulder

04 August 2009

A professional photographer needs to have outstanding creativity and eyesight which has a universal appeal for beauty. Knowledge and dexterity in using various photography equipments with varied light sources is almost mandatory. In a scenic place like Boulder, one should be able to capture panoramic views and objects from interesting angles. Nowadays, serious Boulder photographers should possess skills for effecting digital alterations and enhancements. Meaningful photography is not just about cameras and lenses. Professional photography also requires soft skills like being understanding towards the needs of the client without forsaking one’s own imagination, making people comfortable for particular shots, excellent communication skills to sell one’s own photographs and patience while waiting for suitable shots or working for irregular and long hours.

Simple Lessons in Piano

03 August 2009

You can easily learn something as long as you have the determination. It is just the same with learning the piano – all you have to do is learn the basic chords and melodies as they are the foundation when you are just starting out. After you have learned the fundamentals and you have already achieved discipline and the right attitude, you would be able to play the piano in only a couple of days, particularly with learn piano software. The only downside to it is that you will not be able to understand the note’s background since you have learned how to play the piano the easy way imaginable.

Video Podcasts For The Conference

31 July 2009

I’m putting together resources for our annual conference and there’s going to be a session on new media and podcasting. Having a hard time trying to decide which video podcasts to include in the discs we’ll be handing out. Just in terms of the time it takes to burn them, I’d prefer to stick with CDs, and shorter content. On the other hand, some of the best videocasts are in HD.

Maybe we’ll just include a document with links to some of those. Otherwise it’s gonna take forever to burn the 350 to 400 copies we need for the conference.

How A Painter Like Philip Gray Can Make A Name For Himself

29 July 2009

There has been a rise in the sale of limited edition prints because of the rise in popularity of a number of global artists and modern British artists.  A good example, the sales of Philip Gray’s limited edition prints have remained healthy.

Painters like Philip Gray who want to begin building their name are not anymore required to produce a number of pieces because of this.  One large benefit of art prints is that they are simple to produce and can be manufactured in bulk numbers.  The more successful the artist is the higher profit they will receive especially if it will be sold in large numbers in an easy manner.  The chance of urban art prints being sold is great because of its rising popularity and because posters are being superseded by canvas.

Music Video For Mom’s Birthday

13 July 2009

We’ve been looking all over the Web for the perfect music for Mom’s 75th birthday, and it finally dawned on me. Why not make a music video especially for the occasion? We already had hundreds of pictures collected for the scrapbook, so I’m going to scan those and do a slide-show and then set it all to some of her favorite music, and songs that befit our own sentiments.

The biggest problem will be deciding what to leave out. There are so many great shots and so many great songs.

Whatever we end up with, I hope she likes it.

20 DVD’s Away From Learning Guitar

07 July 2009

Learn and Master Guitar consists of 20 professionally produced DVD’s, 5 CD’s, and a 100+ page lesson book, as well as a free online student support site to merge likeminded guitarists. Positive learn and master guitar reviews are being published all over the internet. The course basically includes everything you’ll ever need to learn how to play the guitar.

Not only that but the one-time fee is nothing in comparison to what it would cost for similar information through a private instructor. The book provides the lessons while the DVD’s contain the same lessons shown visually by professional guitarist Steve Krenz, and the CD’s provide the songs contained in the lessons played by the actual band. That way you can play along with the actual band. Pretty cool, eh?

Interested in Working in a Culinary Restaurant

05 July 2009

I just recently learned that restaurants like those that you see on reality TV shows really do exist. Despite how crazy they may appear on TV, I think something like that would be a great experience. I am interested in working in a culinary restaurant. I have just started to research them a bit. From what I have read, you need to be in a culinary school that is affiliated with the restaurant in order to work there. I have started looking into the culinary schools in my area that have this affiliation so that I can get started on this as soon as possible.
