Indeed, it’s a tragic truth that teachers unions have been largely successful in insuring that teachers are paid for everything except delivering excellent teaching and education; they are paid for avoiding being fired aka experience, acquiring advanced degrees which are almost always superfluous and are granted tenure which has no place in an educational system where teachers are told what they must teach.

Although it is true that there are many superb and dedicated teachers, teachers unions contracts simultaneously make it impossible for them to financially benefit from providing excellent education and protect those teachers who are substandard, which clearly doesn’t provide for the best interests of our children. How much longer are we going to tolerate this dysfunctional, self serving nonsense?
