Sacro Occipital Technique

Sacro Occipital Technique or also known as SOT was developed by Bertrand DeJarnette, DC, whom was one a wealthy former engineer who used much of his fortune funding research on why chiropractic works. He then concludes that structural changes affecting the Dura can affect any area of the spine. The Dora covers the entire central nervous system (the brain and the spinal cord). And this conclusion was based by Dr. DeJarnette in the part on the fact that adjusting one segment of the spine may bring about a change in another area in the spine. In addition, Dr. Janette was interested in research showing cranial bones move and theorized that structural changes of the cranial bones could affect the movement of cerebrospinal fluidwichita fibromyalgia specialist Thus, SOT addresses positioning of the cranial bones using a method known as craniapathy. SOT had also this method called “Blocking” which is used for addressing pelvic subluxations, involve blocks placed beneath the pelvis, with the patient lying face-up. The goal is to normalize joint positions on both sides of the spine simultaneously. This technique also integrates with other chiropractic systems, allowing for use of a variety of technique within the SOT system.
