What is One of the major causes of the low vitamin D level?

There are varied causes for the low vitamin D level in the body. Some of the well-known causes are shortage of vitamin D in the diet, inadequate exposure to sunlight, inability of the intestines to absorb vitamin D in the food that we consume liver ailment or kidney ailment interfering with the absorption of vitamin D and such other causes. One of the major causes of the low vitamin D level is the inadequate production of vitamin D in the breast milk. This inadequate vitamin D supply results in the disease called rickets. Rickets lies in the swelling of wrist and the bowing of the legs. Many children in the world are affected by rickets today.
