Grapes may be another one of the foods that lower blood pressure
We’ve heard for a long time that red wine is good for the heart but now it seems that grapes may even be one of several foods that lower blood pressure. They also help protect you from heart disease in other ways, especially if you eat a salty diet.
Researchers suspect that antioxidants, especially the flavonoids found in high amounts in the skin and seeds of grapes, are the substances responsible for the healthy effects. Grape seeds have previously been claimed as a high blood pressure remedy but now it seems you can enjoy the whole grape. Only colored red, black and other dark grapes have sufficient amounts of the beneficial nutrients.
This sounds like grapes have great health potential, although I’m reminded that some doctors question the entire theory around anti-oxidants.
