A day in the life …
I was cruising food websites this morning during break, looking for dinner ideas and stumbled across a garlic shrimp recipe that tickled my palate. As I read the recipe, I could smell the garlic cooking in the olive oil. The recipe haunted me throughout the day. During my lunch break I made a grocery list so I would be assured of having all the necessary ingredients. When I wasn’t thinking about work today, that garlic shrimp recipe kept raising its head. I could just taste those scrumptious shrimp, cooked to perfection in their garlicky goodness. Finally it was time to leave work and head for home. First stop, grocery store. I picked up all the other ingredients and then gleefully headed to the fish counter. ‘WHAT? No shrimp????’ Frozen shrimp would not do. I was crushed. As crushed as the icy bed where my shrimp should have been awaiting me. No; nothing else would satisfy. I dejectedly left my basket there at the fish counter and walked, as if in a fog, to my car. No garlic shrimp tonight; no plump, succulent, garlic-infused shrimp to titillate my tastebuds. Alas, mac cheese it would be, yet again.
