Cooking with Rice Crispy Treats

Do you ever find one of those old boxes of cereals in them that haven’t gone bad, but just don’t taste fresh enough anymore to enjoy with some milk as regular cereal in teh morning? If that happens to you as often as it does to me, you may want to start cooking with rice crispy cereal (or any other ceral you find for that matter).

Rice crispies make an excellent coating for both chicken and fish. I’ve even heard of people coating their french toast by coating it in this popular cold cereal. Then of course there is also the always popular rice crispy treats - and the chocolate and or peanut butter variations.

Most cerals also work well as a crunchy addition to cookies, muffins and sweet breads. Heck you can even top a casserole with them.
