This is the kind of culture we are cultivating

While doing my own research on what college students know about credit cards, I was taken aback to learn that most did not care about the interest they were expected to pay. If they could get the money they wanted, why ask many questions? Most of them had already acquired a credit card which they used frequently. Very few had the knowledge of the disadvantages of owning one. The others were just happy to be able to get finances when they need them the most. When I enquired about the Consumer Credit Law, they had no idea what I was talking about. They had signed the contract according to the customer law and knew their limits. Although some still passed them every now and then, they still felt that they were ideal clients who hustled at the end of the month to pay off what they owed. It seemed like all of them were sold out to the idea that they needed to have a credit card. Though I would not fault them, they needed to know better. Getting into the business world with no money of your own and having to borrow huge sums so that you can offset loans you took in college can be quite daunting. You already have a disadvantage compared to all the other people you are starting with. Declaring that you were unaware of the rules and the regulations governing credit cards will only add to your woes as employers will take this as a sign that you are uninformed about the important things in life. Employers expect you to be proactive therefore they will not in any way side with you when they realize that you were at fault.
