Use a Humane Snake Trap Rather than a Hoe
My husband’s elderly father never saw a good snake in his life. It didn’t matter if it was five inches long or twelve feet long and venomous, if it was a snake, it was going to die. The weapon of choice was usually a garden hoe, but a big stick or a shovel worked as well, and he wasn’t choosy. I don’t think it was fear, I think it was a true horror. He’d worked in tobacco fields as a boy and he had developed a healthy and then an unhealthy fear of snakes. These days, we use a more humane snake trap and then, simply relocate the snake.
