How does wimax work?

Introduced in 2001, wimax or Worldwide Interoperability of Microwave Access, has become known as the creation of the last mile in connections for many of the nations rural customers.  The last mile, as used in this context implies it is the very last measure of distance required in order to offer high speed internet capability to that untapped rural customer base.

From the customer standpoint however, this may seem to be their first mile to get on the information highway that most urban dwellers have already enjoyed for quite a while.

Wimax connects your ISP to your home with a slightly higher transmission frequency than normally used by broadband or DSL.  It proves to be less crowded and speedier for sending and receiving data over the internet.
