Protective Fencing Equipment
At the very first look, fencing seems to be a dangerous sport with the contestants wielding sharp weapons. However, this is not so. The weapons are not sharp at all and to protect the contestants from any damage, specially padded fencing equipment is provided.
All the contestants wear white padded jackets with long sleeves. Women’s jackets are specially padded at the chest. In fact, fencing clothes have special protective padding for both the breasts and the groin area. White padded gloves protect the forearm. Wired masks protect the face, head and the neck. Shoes too have protective padding for the soles.
