Wearing fencing equipment

Fencing is a science, too, in that it concerns a systematized body of knowledge demonstrating the operation of general laws. Fencers are classified as Prep, Novice, Junior, Intermediate, or Senior based upon past competitive performance. Fencing is made up of three different weapons: the epee, the foil and the saber. Swordplay is not an exercise of static strikes and blocks. The sport of fencing is fast and athletic, a far cry from the choreographed bouts you see on film or on the stage with fencing equipment. Even at the most important international matches, quiet is maintained when fencers are inaction.
